Materials Testing

All incoming material is visually inspected before processing begins and all our production is checked during processing and at the completion stage for size, properties and appearance.

Our qualified metallurgists are able to provide, and advise on, a comprehensive range of material testing and evaluation options.

Our test equipment comprises:

• X-Ray Fluorescence Analyser
• Optical spectrometer
• Laser scanning micrometers
• Three tensile/compression test machines
• Vickers and Rockwell hardness machines
• Wrap, Bend and Torsion machines
• Metallurgical microscope (to x1000)

In the specialist well service market, we have the facilities to test wirelines and strands as a manufacturer or as an independent testing house to provide you with a fast and accurate response to any issues that arise within your operations. This includes Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Analysis as required.

In addition, we have examination facilities that allow visual inspection up to 1000x, linked to computer software that can produce digital or photographic images. As part of this process, we have equipment that enables accurate preparation and examination of cross sections of wire. This enables verification of metallurgical macro and microstructure, decarburisation and surface defect detection.
