Phosphor Bronze

Phosphor Bronzes are alloys of copper and tin with the addition of small amounts of phosphorus, further increasing their hardness as well as fatigue and wear resistance, leading to applications such as springs and fasteners. The level of tin varies from 5 - 8% depending on the alloy. PB102 has an alpha phase structure and combines good cold working, strength and hardness properties.

Fox Wire produces Phosphor Bronze wire in round, flat and profiled sections in a full range of sizes and tempers to meet individual customer requirements. The following grades are available:

  • PB102, containing 95% Copper and 5% Tin
  • PB103, containing 94% Copper and 6% Tin
  • PB104, containing 92% Copper and 8% Tin
